Wavelength 2007 is coming up and you don't want to miss it. We will be going to Lake McClure from July 7th to July 12th. It will be an awesome vacation that includes: Inner tubing, wake boarding, playing crazy games, awesome worship, and relaxation on a beautiful suntoasted lake. If any of these things interest you, then you should definitely sign up. The price is $275 if the deposit is paid by June 30th, and it is $300 if the deposit is paid afterwards. The deposit is $100 and non-refundable. In addition to having an unbelievable time, we will be staying on luxury houseboats. They have everything you could want on it: a waterslide, hot tub, a BBQ, lounge areas, comfortable beds, an open top for tanning, showers, a kitchen, a flying bridge (I don't know what that is, but it sounds cool), appliances, and plenty more! Wavelength will be the highlight of the summer...if you don't believe me, ask anyone who went last year, they say it's their favorite Frequency event of the year. Not only will you have the time of your life, but this will also be a great opportunity to meet new friends...I know one student who went not knowing anyone, and then came back with a handful of best friends. Spaces are limited and will fill up fast so sign up soon!!

But this Tuesday is the PARTAY! If you need directions call the church at 496-7411 or call a leader. There will be good food and games and the Interface shirt, which is sweet!

Judgment Day

Posted by Evan Liewer 0 comments

Tonight we talked a little about truth and judgment. It is not our job or responsibility to judge one another. God alone is the judge and we shouldn't try to take that job away from Him, i mean He is going to be better at it than you. We also looked at truth, as Christians we are to live truthful lives, pure and holy lives. Other will view Christianity by our actions, so lets give them the most accurate presentation of God, by living upright lives!

Toward God

Posted by Evan Liewer Saturday, May 19, 2007 0 comments

Although this message started out a little complicated, with that whole math concept of 1/2 distances and all (not on the MP3) but it all boils down to the simplest of concepts. God loves you, a lot. God wants an indepth quality relationship with you. So if you want this too, James gives you 5 steps to do it.
1. Submit
2. Resist
3. Purify
4. Grieve
5. Humble

Following these will foster a much healthier and more quality relationship with God.

BIGGER BETTER BASH THIS FRIDAY

Posted by Evan Liewer Wednesday, May 9, 2007 0 comments

This Friday is the Bigger or Better Bash. We are loading up at 6pm so I highly suggest you get here earlier. We will be returning back to the church at 8:30pm and the event will be over at 9pm. It will be a sweet exciting night of searching for treasure. Bring your camera as there could be some pretty sweet photos. So as the event starts with a penny, i figured i would post about the tramatic stress pennies cause some people, so directly from Wikipedia, here it is:

The physical handling and counting of pennies creates transaction costs that may be higher than a penny per penny spent. Furthermore, as has been claimed for micropayments, due to mental transaction costs one cent may exceed the useful price granularity of almost all products and services sold over the counter?granularities of five or ten cents may be sufficient. Also, inflation periodically causes the metal value of pennies to exceed their face value, making them wasteful to mint. Several nations have stopped minting equivalent value coins, and efforts have been made to end the routine use of pennies in the U.S.

Bigger Better Bash

Come this Friday night at 5:30pm to the chapel and join us for the Bigger and Better Bash. Start with a Penny and go on a hunt to find something BIGGER and BETTER. Sounds simple enough, but who will come back with the best stuff? Will you go door to door on a street? Will you only ask people you know? Will you go to a car dealership and try to get a vehicle? What strategy will WIN? We will be selling the items at the Rummage Sale the following Saturday, a very fun week indeed!

The source of Wisdom

Posted by Evan Liewer 0 comments

James once again tells us that we can receive the best wisdom for our lives from God. He told us earlier that God will provide us with wisdom and direction for our lives if we only seek Him. James now tells us that there we can seek counterfeit wisdom, wisdom that isn't wise from "The World", from our flesh, and from Satan. James tells us that we should seek Godly wisdom and follow it, thereby showing others our Christian walk by our actions

Today is the national day of prayer. It is pretty sweet that we live in a country that allows us to freely serve our god! So take a moment today to pray for our country, our schools, our friends and family, and god's direction for your life.

Mafia Madness

Posted by Evan Liewer Tuesday, May 1, 2007 0 comments

By Nate Meyst

Last Saturday night, students and leaders got together after the service to join in on a little game of Mafia. Mafia: a game of deception and lies and craftiness. A great game to play to really bring Evan's point home. The point he made in his message that night about the power of our tongues and the absolute destruction they can cause. Evan was the narrator for the night, and took us on an adventure through Bible Land! He used such stories as Nathan and David (that's the one he used when I died in the game) and the apostle Luke (for when... You guessed it... Luke died).
Throughout the few games we played, there were some very interesting defenses given. Billy gave one of the ole' "all I have is a two of hearts!" routine, promising to everyone that by the end of the game, we would prove them all wrong when he showed them his actual card. We also heard a few "how could I ever kill that person?!?!" acts; never a good defense. And then the best was Steven Huggins' defense, which was actually not a defense at all. No, seriously, he actually gave no defense at all. I mean, he could have touched on the fact that Steven Huggins, the mild and meek Frequency student, is totally and completely incapable of committing such a crime. He could have at least said, "Look at this face! I'm the Huggely Bear! I play baseball at Costa Mesa Calvary and go to Interface on Monday nights, but murder? I don't think so." But no, he gave no defense whatsoever.
Any who, after our feud of lies and deceit, we finished the night off with a nice healthy game of hide-and-go-seek. A game in which we ended up spending an hour looking for Billy and Evan, who had miraculously turned into escape artists just during the course of this game (if only I knew their secret). We discovered them hiding under couches. Not behind them, not under the cushions, under the couches. The only reason one of the students was able to see Billy, was because the couch was mysteriously leaning about a foot to one side. And then, due to Evan's chuckling and moving the couch all about in the process, he was also discovered shortly after.
Caps off to you, Evan and Billy, for being the last ones found!
Go here to view photos of the night!
